TEF or DELF

I’ve to take TEF Exam for my Canada PR. Since I am learning French, would you suggest me to take DELF exam along with TEF as well? This is one of the most common questions that people ask me who are aiming for TEF Canada. My answer would always be YES you should take DELF B1/B2 exam as well along with TEF exam.

Let me give you few reasons

broken heartTEF Canada score is valid only for 2 years that means that certificate has no use after that. Whereas DELF certification is valid for lifelong. So, incase you plan to use this skill at work after 2 years it’s better to have DELF certificate.

yesCompleting B1/B2 level of French is not a JOKE. That means you have invested months learning it. Not just that it’s a big financial and mental investment a well. So don’t let all you hard work go in vain.

yesDELF is valid worldwide. Incase you plan to move outside Canada in future, you would always have a certificate of proficiency that can be acknowledged everywhere.

Note : I’m not saying that you should take DELF exam of all levels, but DELF B1/B2 would be of great benefit.
